Coach Ogunbote called the Lobi Stars’ loss “careless” and “shooting stars.”

Gbenga Ogunbote, the head coach of Shooting Stars, blamed negligence for his team’s loss.

On Sunday, the Oluyole Warriors lost 2-1 against the Lobi Stars at Lafia City Stadium.

Early in the game, Waheed Adebayo gave Lobi Stars the lead; however, Gideon Monday tied the score for Shooting Stars before the half was up.

Five minutes remaining, Orji Kalu scored from the penalty spot to give the Pride of Benue the victory.

Ogunbote expressed regret that his squad was unable to get a point during the match.

In a post-match interview, he said, “At worst, we deserved a point in the game, but unfortunately, it came the other way around.”

We take the positives from the game and go on, even though we were a touch irresponsible with the penalty.

Right now, Shooting Stars are ranked third on the standings.
