FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Perhaps the biggest win of the upcoming transfer portal for Arkansas football will be keeping one of its own.
Junior defensive end Landon Jackson announced on his social media pages Wednesday evening that he would be returning for his senior year with the Razorbacks. The announcement came just a day after Rocket Sanders announced his impending departure.
Jackson was a team captain in 2023 and entered the fall with high expectations. He put on more than 40 pounds of weight in the offseason and turned in a campaign worthy of an All-SEC selection.
Jackson led the Razorbacks with 6.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss. He had his best game of the season against Alabama in mid-October, recording 3.5 sacks and 11 tackles. The LSU transfer started all 12 games for Arkansas in 2023.

Earlier in the week, defensive tackle Cam Ball also announced he would return to Arkansas for the 2024 season. Despite the impending transfers of Chris Paul Jr. and Taurean Carter, the Hogs have done a good job keeping their defensive talent with Jackson, Ball and cornerback Jaylon Braxton.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas defensive lineman Landon Jackson is returning to the Razorbacks for the 2024 season, the junior announced on Wednesday.
Jackson, who earned first-team All-SEC honors this season, was an anchor for an Arkansas defense that finished sixth in the conference in tackles for loss and sacks.
The Texarkana, Texas, native tallied 44 tackles and led the team with 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
Despite finishing the season with a 4-8 (1-7 SEC) record, Arkansas’ defense made big strides under defensive coordinator Travis Williams — and one of his most important players has decided to stick around for another year in Fayetteville.
Landon Jackson took to Twitter/X on Wednesday to announce his intention to return for his senior season. 2024 will mark the defensive end’s third year on the Hill, following the decision to transfer from LSU after his freshman campaign.
Considered a legitimate 2024 NFL Draft prospect, Jackson racked up 44 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in 12 games for the Razorbacks this season. His most impressive outing was at Alabama, where he recorded a season-high 11 tackles along with 3.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
During his three-year Arkansas career, Jackson has totaled 67 tackles, 17.0 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.
According to Pro Football Focus, Jackson finished the 2023-24 season with an overall grade of 77.4, a run defense grade of 78.7, a tackling grade of 78.3, a pass rush grade of 68.3 and a coverage grade of 74.8.
