Holland: Akpom receives a ton of praise for his leadership skills

Steven Berghuis, an Ajax winger, has given his teammate Chuba Akpom credit for his outstanding heading ability.

Akpom left Sky Bet Championship team Middlesbrough to join the heavyweights of the Eredivisie in the summer.

The striker, who was born in Nigeria, has adapted to life at the club well after a rough beginning.

Last weekend, Ajax defeated Vitesse Arnhem 5-0 at the Johan Cruyff Arena, with the 27-year-old scoring on goal.

Akpom scored his team’s fourth goal of the match with a nod.

It was his fifth goal for Ajax in as many games.

According to Voetbalzone, Berghuis told ESPN, “We’ve lost a significant amount of heading power due to the departures of Edson Álvarez, Lisandro Martínez, and Sébastien Haller.”

“Basically, the only person we have today is Chuba Akpom, and he has good judgment.”
