The manager of the Pirates just made a depressing and scared statement following their home game.

Derek Shelton, manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, has been wed to Alison, his true love, for a number of years. They have three kids and have been dating for fifteen years.

Their shared kid is Gianna Pucci Shelton. Gianna has a tight relationship with Jackson and Isabella, the two half-siblings of Shelton. The family lives on Florida’s Treasure Island.

Alison, Shelton’s wife, is close with her stepchildren and frequently posts sweet remarks on social media to express her love for them.

From 2003 through 2007, Shelton served as the Cleveland Indians’ minor league hitting coordinator.

After the 2009 campaign, Shelton was hired as the Tampa Bay Rays’ hitting coach. In September 2016, the Rays released him. He was hired by the Toronto Blue Jays on Dec. 12, 2016, to serve as their quality control coach for the 2017 campaign. The Minnesota Twins signed Shelton as their bench coach for the 2018 campaign.

Shelton was appointed as the Pittsburgh Pirates’ manager on Nov. 27, 2019. He is currently serving as the club’s 41st manager.

Following the team’s successful start to the 2023 season, the Pittsburgh Pirates decided to extend Shelton’s contract.

It took Jordan Wicks a minute to gather himself.

His major-league debut at PNC Park on Saturday night in Pittsburgh didn’t start off well. On his second pitch of the game, Wicks let up a home run to Ke’Bryan Hayes, and the next two Pirates players reached. With nobody out in the first inning and down 2-0 against Connor Joe, Tommy Hottovy, the pitching coach for the Chicago Cubs, trotted out from the dugout to have a conversation with the lefty.

It gave Wicks the respite he needed to get back on track. The Cubs’ first-round selection in 2021, Wicks, was reminded by Hottovy that he wasn’t missing much and was producing quality deliveries. According to Hottovy, if you persevere, they will begin to swing. Following the, Wicks threw three pitches that Joe whiffed on.
