LOUISVILLE, KY: Emmanuel Okorafor, a sophomore men’s basketball player from the University of Louisville, will represent Team Africa in international competition this week as part of the 2023 GLOBL JAM event in Toronto.

Okorafor, a 6-foot-9 forward/center from Lagos, Nigeria, will play for Team Africa at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto for the Under-23 championship.

At 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Team Africa will play its first match against Canada. On Thursday, the team will play Germany at 1:30 p.m. ET.

At 1:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network on Saturday, Okorafor and Team Africa will take on the University of Kentucky, who will be representing the United States in the competition.

On Sunday, there will be medal games all day long.

After joining the Cardinals in January from NBA Academy Africa, Okorafor appeared in five games in 2022-23. He averaged 4.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game before an injury sidelined him for the rest of the year.
