LOUISVILLE, KY: On Wednesday, Jeff Walz, the head coach of the University of Louisville women’s basketball team, announced the addition of guard Eylia Love, a transfer. Love will be able to play for two seasons, beginning with the 2023–2024 campaign.

Love played for the Yellow Jackets for the last three seasons after starting her college career at Georgia Tech. Love made eight starts and participated in 13 games for Georgia Tech this season. She outscored Auburn on the road, scoring a season-high 12 points.

Love played in every game and started 31 for the Yellow Jackets in the 2021–2022 season. She scored third on the team with an average of 10.5 points per game. Love had a 41.7 percent (129-309) field goal percentage and a 40.4

WAVE) LOUISVILLE, KY The University of Louisville women’s basketball team defeated North Carolina A&T 80–40 on Sunday afternoon, taking the lead from the start.

Five Cardinals scored in double digits: Olivia Cochran (10), Jayda Curry (12), Merissah Russell (11), Kiki Jefferson (11), Eylia Love (10) and Olivia Cochran (10). Nyla Harris was one point short of reaching double figures. Love scored a double-double after grabbing ten rebounds.

The eleven points of Maleia Bracone led the Aggies. For NCA&T, she was the lone player to score in double figures.

In every metric, the Cards did better than the Aggies. UofL outrebounded opponents 45–23 overall, including a 23-5 advantage on the offensive boards. UofL outscored NCA&T with 21 assists to 8, six blocks to three, and 16 steals to five.

The 3-point shooting of DePaul was a major factor in their victory. Eleven threes were made by the Blue Demons. Kate Clark scored a game-high 32 points, making eight long-range baskets. DePaul jumped out to an early 13-point lead after making three long-range attempts.

“We fell asleep too much and they got open 3s, which we’ve been practicing all week,” said Olivia Cochran. “We are responsible for that. We’re still learning about one another. We’re still improving as a team by cooperating with one another. Thus, we will undoubtedly protect them the next time we have gunmen.”
