After a long and eventful five months, the 2023-2024 NFL season is officially in the books.
This year’s season featured countless memorable moments on and off the field for Tennessee Volunteers football fans. From Alvin Kamara’s resurgence with the Saints to Josh Dobbs’ meteoric rise after being traded to the Minnesota Vikings to Peyton Manning’s must-see ManningCast broadcast, the NFL world was filled with Tennessee connections.
The season also ended with Trey Smith’s Kansas City Chiefs defeating Jauan Jennings’ San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday night in Las Vegas.
Here’s a look at the many statistics from Tennessee’s players in the NFL during the 2023-2024 season:
S Micah Abernathy – Atlanta Falcons
Recorded seven tackles in 12 games with the Falcons.
DE Derek Barnett – Houston Texans
Eagles: 3 tackles in 8 games before a trade from Philadelphia.
Texans: 26 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 8 games with Houston.
DT Matthew Butler – Las Vegas Raiders
Recorded one tackle in two games played this season.
WR Marquez Callaway – New Orleans Saints
Did not record any stats in 2023, was picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers in January 2024.
LS Morgan Cox – Tennessee Titans
Starting long snapper for the Tennessee Titans.
QB Joshua Dobbs – Minnesota Vikings
Cardinals: 167/266, 1,569 passing yards, 8 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 47 carries for 258 yards, three rushing touchdowns prior to being traded.
Vikings: 95/151, 895 passing yards, 5 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 30 carries for 163 yards, three rushing touchdowns after being traded.
TE/FB Princeton Fant – Dallas Cowboys
On the practice squad.
QB Hendon Hooker – Detroit Lions
Did not play in 2023 as he was recovering from ACL injury but did get moved from the NFI (Non-football injury) list to the active squad about three quarters through the season.
WR Jalin Hyatt – New York Giants
Recorded 373 yards on 23 receptions during his rookie year with New York Giants.
Recorded 21 tackles and one interception in 15 games with the Minnesota Vikings.
WR Jauan Jennings – San Francisco 49ers
LB Alexander Johnson – Miami Dolphins
On the practice squad.
FB Jakob Johnson – Las Vegas Raiders
Recorded one reception for 12 yards while playing in 13 games as the Raiders’ starting fullback in 2023.
WR/PR Velus Jones Jr. – Chicago Bears
Record four receptions for 20 yards and 51 yards on eight carries in 14 games with the Chicago Bears in his sophomore season.
RB Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints
Recorded 694 yards and five touchdowns on 180 carries. Also recorded 466 yards and one touchdown on 75 receptions despite missing the first four games of the season.
Appeared in 15 games for the Carolina Panthers in his sophomore season in the NFL.
CB Emmanuel Moseley – Detroit Lions
After recovering from a torn left ACL injury throughout the offseason, Moseley tore his right ACL in his first game back with the Lions this season in Week 5. Moseley did not play in Detroit’s season or playoff run besides his quick return back.
WR Joshua Palmer – Los Angeles Chargers
Recorded 581 yards and two touchdowns on 38 receptions in 11 games played.
RB Cordarrelle Patterson – Atlanta Falcons
Recorded 181 rushing yards on 50 carries and 38 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown on nine receptions.
DE Kyle Phillips – New Orleans Saints
Recorded three tackles in six games played this season.
LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin – Detroit Lions
Recorded 26 total tackles and 1.5 sacks in 20 games played with the Lions this season.
OG Trey Smith – Kansas City Chiefs
Won Super Bowl LVIII as a starting offensive lineman with the Kansas City Chiefs.
CB Cameron Sutton – Detroit Lions
Recorded 73 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble in 20 games with the Lions.
CB Alontae Taylor – New Orleans Saints
Recorded 75 tackles, one forced fumble, two interceptions, and 14 passes defended in 17 games this season.
DE Darrell Taylor – Seattle Seahawks
Recorded 28 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 17 games with the Seahawks.
WR Cedric Tillman – Cleveland Browns
Recorded 224 yards on 21 receptions in 14 games during his rookie season with the Browns.
DT Shy Tuttle – Carolina Panthers
Recorded 43 tackles and 0.5 sacks in 17 games in his first season with the Panthers.
DT Kendal Vickers – Buffalo Bills/Arizona Cardinals
Recorded two tackles in two games with the Bills.
OT Darnell Wright – Chicago Bears
Started all 17 games during his rookie season for the Chicago Bears. Named to the NFL All-Rookie Team.
DE Byron Young – Los Angeles Rams
Recorded 64 total tackles, 8 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 18 games with the Rams. Named to the NFL All-Rookie Team.
