Finalists for 2023 FIFA Best Player: Messi, Mbappe, and Haaland

FIFA announced the shortlist for the FIFA Best Men’s Player Award on Thursday. Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe are the contenders.

This implies that the top three candidates that emerged victorious in the Ballon d’Or vote will face off for the award.

The shortlist for Women’s Best Player features Linda Caicedo of Colombia and Aitana Bonmatí and Jenni Hermoso of Spain.

Last season, Haaland assisted Manchester City in winning the FA Cup, the English Premier League, and the Champions League

Messi and Mbappe’s Paris Saint-Germain team won the Ligue 1 championship, but they were eliminated in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.

Messi later joined Inter Miami CF, where he was the League cup winner.
